I’ve been browsing real estate sites for several days now and nothing sincerely piqued my interest until now. Tucked away in the Lower Garden District is this 130-year-old Victorian townhouse on Annunciation Street, an adorable little building squashed between two much larger structures. Respectfully renovated about 4 years ago, the house still retains many of its historic qualities from the cozy front porch and fireplace mantles with exposed brick, to the original heart pine floors and transoms. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated offering lots of storage and space, and there’s even a screened in back porch with a cute bricked patio out back.
Part of this historic house’s appeal is the location. Even with the pandemic raging all around us, over the past several years this neighborhood has become a hip hotspot with coffee shops, bars and restaurants opening left and right. Not to mention the fact that the Warehouse District is mere blocks away. Other than its age and location, there’s just something so enchanting about this property that keeps me coming back to look at it again and again. I wonder who originally own this house? Did they love it as much as I do? Listed at $669,000, it’s way out of my reach, but I can still admire it and dream my little dreams.
