Before you even think it, I know this place would likely require a lot of work to get it as shiny as it could be, but once again, there’s so much potential! Located less than a block from Mona’s, this Mid-City, two-story Craftsman-like double is nothing if not hyphenated.
All joking aside, if you can look past the endless layers of paint (both inside and outside), scary ceiling cracks and strange silhouette mounted on the second story facade, there are so many cool things about this house! First and foremost, it’s a double. Meaning you could buy this house and rent out the space next door to pay most of your mortgage. Or, if you can swing the cost, you could effectively collapse this 3,000 square foot double into a single-family home, keeping as many of its cool, Craftsman features as possible, of course.
There’s so much beauty that could really shine in this place, from the multi-paned, geometric windows and huge porch to the beautiful hardwood floors. Speaking of wood, check out the moulding, millwork, transoms, built-in cabinetry, columns and fireplace mantles. Listed at $425,000, it’s out of my reach, but I sure wish I had the moolah to spruce this place up.
