The mystery folks behind Secret Birria (more tacos!) on Octavia Street have launched a breakfast restaurant in the same space! On Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm, Secret Birria (which is on for an evening gig) becomes a Hairy Dog.
Hairy Dog, @hairydognola on Instagram, touts “food for hungry humans.” I’m hungry. I’m human. Sounds perfect! The simple menu offers inherently munchable sounding items such as “Golden Doodle Tots” with honey butter and sea salt, “O.G.” Funnel Bites served with maple syrup for dipping, or a “Blue Dog Pistolet” – grilled Patton’s hot sausage with white American cheese, lettuce and Blue Plate mayo.
*Sidenote – Hairy Dog’s logo, designed by Deep Fried, reminds me of Good Omens for some reason. That’s not to say I don’t love it!
