Everything is coming up veggies these days, and for good reason! There’s only a few all vegan and/or vegetarian restaurants available in New Orleans, and quite a bit more than a few willing to eat it.
Enter chefs Alex Davis and Jas, the green goddesses behind St. Roch Market’s latest tenant Coalesce Goods. After popping up around town at spots like Coffee Science and Mojo Coffee House, the duo are taking another step forward offering vegan goods at the Marigny food hall. Plant-eaters will rejoice in dishes such as boudin balls, Chick’n & Waffles, cheesecake and donuts . . . all made with plant-based ingredients.
Hailing from Texas, Alex learned a lot about the healing properties of sustainable (and tasty) foods in Bali during her training to become a certified yoga instructor. Southern cooking was already in her blood and she delights in offering her favorite dishes, veggie-style.
Army veteran Chef Jas spent her tour feeding the troops for five years. After receiving her culinary degree from the Art Institute of Houston, she moved to New Orleans and helped open True Food Kitchen and Zea’s Rotisserie.
Coalesce Goods is set to open at the St. Roch Market on February 12th.
