At the same time the world-famous and locally-loved restauranteur was re-opening his flagship restaurant in New Orleans, Emeril had his irons in the fire for a brand new concept he’s opening downtown. Later this spring, or perhaps even summer, The Emeril Group will launch 34 Restaurant & Bar, a spot created to honor Hilda Mederios, the celebrity chef’s late mother. A collaboration with his son E.J., 34 will be Emeril’s “love letter” to Portuguese cuisine.
